Legacy Elementary - Parent Update Meeting Spring 2016

Just as important as our society as a whole are our small communities:

2016 Spring MyON Reading Challenge

St. Vrain Valley elementary schools and preschools
are invited to participate in the District’s Spring
Reading Challenge.

Participants should utilize the myOn reading
to record the number of minutes read by
their students between April 1 and April 10.

Prizes will be awarded to the schools with the
highest average minutes read per student (total

100 Mile Club keeps St. Vrain Valley elementary students moving forward

Growing up longeing horses, holding a long lead rope while a horse circled for exercise and training, gave Kara Lubin a model for letting kids horse around as they warm up to workout academically.

"Longeing helps horses to calm down and pay attention," she said.

Lubin wondered if making time and space for kids to walk, skip, or run laps — minus the halter and lead rope — would help them settle down to study.

SVVSD partners with Discovery Education, the Globe Program, and Globe Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and share the experience with students and teachers around the world

On September 24, an international team of scientists, teachers, and students will embark on an eight-day expedition to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, one of the world’s Seven Summits and the tallest mountain on the African continent.  The Kilimanjaro Learning Xpeditition, led by GLOBE teacher and partner Michael O’ Toole, is a joint project between The GLOBE Program, a worldwide K-12 science and education program, GLOBE Africa, Colorado’s St.
