What is your favorite subject?

I love to read but I most enjoy teaching math and Colorado history.

What do you like best about teaching?

I have always loved learning and sharing the excitement of new discoveries with others. I get the greatest joy from seeing a student understand a difficult concept for the first time--when the "light" turns on for them. I also love what I do because I see it as an opportunity to reach out and serve others, which is an important part of who I am and how I try to live.

How do you prepare students to meet future challenges?

I try to share my own life experiences with them and relate them to challenges they may be going through.
