What is your educational background?
I hold a bachelors degrees in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Northern Colorado.
What is your favorite subject?
I like teaching computer science, of course! But what I am really excited about is how computers can be a tool for every other subject.
What do you like best about teaching?
The best thing about teaching is when students get super excited about a project. When that spark of excitement and curiosity lights, that's where learning really takes off and becomes fun.
How do you prepare students to meet future challenges?
The technology world is changing fast, and permeating through every area of life. Cutting edge tech today will be obsolete in a few years. The best way I can prepare students for the future is to teach them how to think about how things work, to learn to problem solve, and to work collaboratively. Technology should improve our critical thinking and problem solving skills, improve our efficiency, motivation and attitude, and increase our global awareness and responsibility, so we become effective, responsible members of society and lifelong learners.
